Scouting-BSA Northern Star Council Photo Contest, 2018

Scouting is a valuable program, maturing boys into responsible young men.  I contribute to Scouting by serving as a Scoutmaster in my local troop and by sharing my photography to help promote the program.  When the Minneapolis-St Paul based Northern Star Council announced its photography contest, I contributed several images.

The contest included three categories:  Scouting People, Scouting Places, and Scouting Things.  Several of my images received awards.  The selected images decorate Northern Star Council's new Leadership Center, located at its Base Camp on Fort Snelling.

I am honored to be able to share my photography skills to help promote Scouting.

CAF 2017 Photo Contest

The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) recognized several of my images in their 2017 Photo Contest:

Rocky Mountain School of Photography (RMSP) 2017 Armed Services Photo Contest

I was blessed with a First Place Award in the Action category in RMSP's first Armed Services Photo Contest.  This contest provided the opportunity to have my work compared with that of other veterans.  My dream is to attend RMSP's Professional Intensive 8-month photography course--eight months of focusing on the craft and art of photography.

Commemorative Air Force Headquarters; Dallas, Texas

One of the greatest rewards for an artist is having their work displayed and enjoyed by others.  The Commemorative Air Force Staff chose one of my works to welcome visitors to the CAF's new headquarters building at the Dallas Executive Airport.  The image captures the CAF mission of educating our youth about the history and sacrifices of America's military airmen.

Commemorative Air Force 2016 Photo Contest

Three images received awards in the CAF's eighth annual photo contest.  Click on the photos to view a larger image.  Click the link to view the September 2016 edition of the Digital Dispatch to view all of the award winning images.

Commemorative Air Force Publications

The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is a national organization with the mission of educating Americans on the history and sacrifices of our nation's military aviators.  One way the CAF does this is by maintaining a fleet of flying World War II vintage aircraft.  As a member of the CAF, I contribute my photography skills to help promote the organization.  To learn more about the CAF, click on the above link.

This image of the Minnesota Wing's Ryan PT-22 graced the cover of the April 2016 issue of "Dispatch", the official magazine of the Commemorative Air Force.  The CAF also used this image on the cover of  their 2015 Annual Report.

CAF 2015 Photo Contest

This image of CAF Minnesota Wing pilot John Schmidt earned a first place award in the "People" category.  John is shown taxiing the Minnesota Wing's Stinson L-5 Sentinel.

Indianapolis Air Show--2007

My son and I had a great time at the 2007 Indianapolis (Indiana) Airshow.  Several images received awards from the airshow photo contest.
